Police officers are searching railcars of garbage in Jessup, Md. for the body of an Annapolis toddler.
Investigators believe the remains of two-year-old Kassidey Booth are somewhere in trash that was being transported to a Waste Management site by railcar.
The toddler’s mother, Chelsea Booth, has confessed to smothering the toddler and throwing her body in a dumpster, according to Annapolis police.
Investigators were able to identify the railcar where the dumpster’s trash was taken. Thursday, police were seen searching those cars with a crane.
Late in the day, police released a statement saying the body had not yet been found.
Officers first questioned Booth after getting a call from concerned neighbors, who told police they had not seen her in several days.
Booth was charged Thursday with first-degree and second-degree murder. She is being held without bail.
