Snow and rain fell in the D.C. region Wednesday evening.
Further west and north of D.C., people were seeing a coating of snow by the evening.
Large flakes fell and there was some ligh accumulation, but mainly on grassy areas, melting on roadways, as the temperature should remain above freezing in much of the region.
The snow and rain was expected to move out of the area overnight.
Any snow that accumulates will melt quickly under the sun Thursday.
