Four years after Pamela Butler disappeared without a trace, loved ones gathered Saturday to remember her, and pray for closure.

“There’s hope,” said former co-worker Roberta Jernigan. “But it just hasn’t happened yet.”

Her loved ones gathered outside her home Saturday for a vigil. The 47-year-old analyst for the Environmental Protection Agency was last seen February 12, 2009, outside her home on 4th Street in Northwest Washington.

Surveillance cameras at her home captured video of Butler’s boyfriend at the time coming and going in the days following her disappearance. Neither he, nor anyone else have ever been charged.

With four long years since her disappearance, and few answers about what happened, Butler’s loved ones tell News4 they long for closure.

“Nobody did this all by themselves,” said her mother, Thelma Butler. “Give us closure. Let us go on with our lives.”

DC Police continue to investigate. The case is being organized by a veteran cold case prosecutor.
