A new county executive will be sworn in to serve Anne Arundel County Friday morning, replacing a man who resigned after being found guilty of misconduct in office.
Laura Neuman will be sworn in at 10 a.m., replacing disgraced former county executive John Leopold.
Leopold resigned after being found guilty of misconduct in office, for using his private security detail to run personal and political errands, including emptying a catheter bag, and taking him to sexual encounters.
The widely watched Leopold trial featured dramatic testimony by Leopold's staff - at one point, the trial had even generated its own Twitter hashtag.
Neuman is the current Howard County economic development chief. She will complete Leopold's term, which runs through 2014.
