Prince George’s County Police will announce arrests in two high-profile murder cases in Capitol Heights on Monday.
One of them is the death of 18-year-old Marckel Ross, who was gunned down Sept. 11 as he walked to school.
Ross was a student at Central High School. A month after he died, his mother said there was more at stake then just finding his killer.
“It’s not all about my child," Elizabeth Ross said. "It’s anyone’s child in the community. You let the murder go, someone else will get killed, and then it will be another mother standing here grieving, and we don’t want that.”
The other arrest is in the death of a 71-year-old woman earlier this month.
On Feb. 9, Geraldine McIntyre was found in her home in the 1200 block of Chapel Oaks Drive with trauma to her upper body. She later died.
Police in Prince George’s County offered rewards in both cases, but did not say if the arrests in each case are related. They'll announce details in the arrests Monday afternoon.
