A new plan in Fairfax County could make it easier for parents to find care for their children at home day-care facilities.
During a meeting with the county's planning commission about 100 parents and home day-care providers voiced their support for -- and concerns with -- a plan to allow providers to care for a total of 12 children. That's up from 10 but would require a special permit.
A majority of those at the meeting said they support the proposed law.
Opponents spoke against the law, saying that more children per day care will hurt the quality of care.
The Board of Supervisors will vote on the proposed changes in May.
