Prince George's County Police have charged a Capitol Heights man with the murder of his roommate in a dispute over rent money.
62-year-old Luke Osei-Kwame has been charged with the first-degree murder and related charges in the death of 59-year-old Anthony Taylor, a criminal justice professor at Westwood College in Arlington. Investigators allege that Osei-Kwame assaulted and beat Taylor with a large wooden club on the evening of March 18 following a dispute over rent money. Taylor died of his injuries at a local hospital two days later.
On Monday, William Kyle, the landlord of the home where the men lived in the 1100 block of Adeline Way, spoke exclusively to News4's Shomari Stone. According to Kyle, the men "argued on and off about things going on in the house.
"It's like a good thing and a bad thing," Kyle told News4. "The good thing is that you got rid of [Osei-Kwame], but the bad thing is, you got rid of an outstanding person."
Prince George's Police are continuing to investigate the case, and anyone with information is asked to call (301) 772-4925 or 1-866-411-8477.
