A D.C. woman was sentenced to 54 months in connection with the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl on a Metrobus, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Pamela Taylor, 24, pleaded guilty in January in an Alford plea to second-degree child sexual abuse and threats. Under an Alford plea, the defendant does not confess to the crimes but agrees the government has enough evidence for conviction.
Taylor first approached the girl on a Metro train at L'Enfant Plaza the morning of Dec. 10, 2011, according to the government. Taylor mentioned the girl's family members, leading her to believe she was a family acquaintance, and the girl let her have her cell phone number.
At Anacostia, Taylor followed the girl on to a Metrobus and sat next to her, according to the government. Taylor then allegedly touched the girl inappropriately.
The girl had to force her way past Taylor to get off the bus, according to the government. The next day, Taylor allegedly called the girl to threaten to assault her if she left her home.
Taylor was sentence to 48 months for child sexual abuse and a consecutive 180 days for the threats.
