Prince George's County Police have charged a University of Maryland student with first and second degree assault in the beating of a fellow student earlier this week.
Police say that 21-year-old Arasp Biparva was served with a warrant Thursday in Potomac. Biparva admitted his part in the assault near the intersection of Knox Road and Baltimore Avenue early Wednesday morning.
According to investigators, the victim was leaving a bar when a fight broke out. The victim was found unconscious by police and taken to a local hospital, where he is listed in stable condition with an apparent head injury. The victim's identity has not been disclosed.
