A Virginia man facing murder charges recently won $20,000 in a lottery game he played with his fiancee.

According to WSLS-TV, Marcus Barnes, 34, of Firedale, Va., is charged with first-degree murder, using a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is accused of murdering William Doss, 28, of Bassett, Va., who was found shot in his chest at his home in Henry County.

On Thursday, Barnes and his fiancee, Crystal Crockett, of Martinsville, were featured on the Virginia Lottery's Facebook page after winning $20,000 in the Lottery's Money in the Bank Scratcher game. "Not bad for a $2 investment," the caption read, in part.

Barnes is being held without bond.
