A Pennsylvania man has been arrested and charged with making felony threats after an investigation into a suspicious vehicle near the White House Wednesday morning.
Krzyztof Wasik, 44, is being held by police.
Authorities say Wasik approached one of the guard shacks near the White House shortly before 5 a.m. and warned them a bomb was going to detonate in a nearby vehicle.
The Secret Service, assisted by D.C. and National Park Police, inspected the car and determined there was no bomb inside, reported News4's Tony Tull.
The investigation led to the closure of several District streets as a precaution, which complicated the early morning commute. Streets began reopening around 6:45 a.m.
