A “saggy pants” crackdown could begin any day now in a Louisiana city.

The Terrebonne Parish Council passed an ordinance that prohibits people from wearing pants that hang below the waist in public, exposing underwear or skin, WGNO.com reported.

Violators of the ordinance would face a $50 fine on the first offense, even community service for repeatedly letting their pants hang low.

The council members voted Wednesday night 8-to-1, WWLTV.com reported. It now goes to Parish President Michel Claudet, who is expected to sign it into law.

Terrebonne Parish Councilwoman Beryl Amedee was the only member who voted against the ordinance, claiming it violates Americans’ constitutional right to free expression.

Similar "saggy pants" bans have been adopted in six Louisiana cities and parishes, as well as other cities, including Hawkinsville, Ga. and Cocoa, Fla.
