Fairfax County Police have released the identity of the man who was found dead at the wheel of a minivan in Oakton Friday evening.
Investigators tell News4's Darcy Spencer that the body is that of 19-year-old Zavier Stringfellow, of Gales Court in the Manassas. An officer discovered the van with Stringfellow's body inside after it crashed into a barrier at the end of a service road off of Chain Bridge Road near Glengyle Drive.
Police are investigating Stringfellow's death as an apparent homicide, and say that the teen suffered blunt force trauma to his upper body. An autopsy is currently being conducted to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
Stringfellow attended Battlefield High School in Haymarket, and was listed as a sophomore defensive end on the football roster at Division III Ferrum College in Virginia.
