Six people were injured when a car collided with a Metrobus in Northwest Washington early Sunday morning.
The accident happened just after 6:30 a.m., when a 96 bus to Tenleytown Station was hit by a gray minivan at the intersection of 34th Street and Woodley Road NW. WMATA spokesman Dan Stessel says that the driver of the minivan ran a red light at the intersection and struck the right front of the bus. The bus then hit a nearby tree.
Stessel said that the bus driver was injured, as was the driver of the minivan and four of the bus passengers. None of the injuries are life-threatening. The accident is being investigated by D.C. police.
