A woman was attacked and stabbed multiple times on board a Metrobus early Tuesday morning.
The attack occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. in the 2200 block of Martin Luther King Avenue, Southeast, on board a 93 bus bound for Congress Heights.
Police say that one woman was stabbed at least three times in the chest, and her companion was hit in the head. The woman who was stabbed alerted the driver, who pulled over and called police.
Both women were taken to Medstar Washington Hospital Center, where the stabbing victim was reportedly in critical condition. The suspect fled the bus and was being sought with the help of surveillance video.
