Maryland State Police say a Frederick man was killed in a crash as he pushed his disabled car along Interstate 70 with his 12-year-old daughter behind the wheel.
Police say 37-year-old Adam Gammon stopped his Chrysler 200 on South Mountain on Tuesday behind a disabled tractor-trailer and a pickup truck that had arrived to help.
When Gammon and his 11-year-old son got out to push, police say he told his daughter to steer around the tractor-trailer so they could coast forward.
When the car turned into traffic, police say a Ford Taurus hit Gammon and his Chrysler, then both cars hit the tractor-trailer and pickup truck.
Police say Gammon was pronounced dead and both children, two truck company workers and the Ford driver were taken to Meritus Medical Center.
