A 77-year-old woman was struck and killed at a bus stop in Wheaton Thursday evening, News4's Erika Gonzalez reported.
investigators are looking in to the possibility that a 56-year-old woman driving an SUV lost control of the vehicle while attempting to make U-turn, striking Maria Colindres at the bus stop in the area of Veirs Mill Road and Ferrara Avenue.
Colindres was headed to work. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Three children were in the SUV, but no injuries to passengers in the SUV were reported.
