Fairfax County police in West Springfield are investigating a possible 15th assault incident in a series.
The incident took place Thursday evening, police said, as a woman was jogging in the 4400 block of Briarwood Court near Patriot Drive. The woman told police a man approaching from Ivymount Court grabbed her. When she yelled, he fled.
According to the woman, the suspect was white or Hispanic, between 25 and 30 years old, around 5'7". He wore a green fleece jacket, dark pants, and dark shoes.
In December another woman reported being grabbed from behind as she was walking in the 6000 block of Hibbling Avenue in Springfield. Similarly to this case, the victim said the man fled when she yelled at him.
Most of the reported assaults have taken place in the Springfield area. Each assault has produced the same general description of the suspect: a man standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches high. The first assault took place September 7.
