U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) arrested a man at Dulles International Airport Wednesday who was wanted for aggravated sexual assault of a child by Atascosa County, Texas, Sherriff’s Office.
Shilo Watts, 38, a U.S. citizen of Pleasanton, Texas, arrived on a flight traveling from Dubai. Once CBP verified the arrest warrant for Watts, he was arrested and turned over to Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority police for extradition back to Texas.
“The United States is a welcoming nation,” said Christopher Hess CBP Port Director for the Port of Washington. “And CBP is committed to facilitating legitimate travel. However we stand ever vigilant in identifying those travelers that our laws identify as needing further scrutiny.”
According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the CBP conducts inspection operations and intercepts currency, weapons, prohibited agriculture products or other illicit items. On average they make 54 criminal arrests a day at U. S. ports of entry nationwide.
