Police say a 24-year-old man high on PCP and found naked atop a fire truck has been arrested for shooting a childhood friend.
Officers responded to a car accident in the 11900 block of Beltsville Drive in Calverton, Md., at approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday. There, they found a man inside a car suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to a hospital and remained in critical condition through Thursday afternoon. Officials said the man had been shot prior to the incident, but did not disclose when.
Police say the suspect, Mohamed Sulaiman Bah of Silver Spring, fled the scene to nearby Calverton Shopping Center. He then removed all of his clothes, climbed onto a fire truck and acted "belligerently," refusing to come down.
Bah eventually came down a few minutes later, and an officer reportedly used a Taser to subdue him. Police say the gun used in the Beltsville Drive shooting was recovered.
He was charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault and other charges.
Officials with the Prince George's County Police Department will be holding a news conference on the incident at 2 p.m. Thursday.
