A local search and rescue team is ready to head to Oklahoma if additional help is needed during recovery efforts.
Fifty-one people, including 20 children, were killed after a massive two-mile-wide tornado flattened homes and started fires in the Oklahoma City area on Monday afternoon.
The Fairfax Urban Search and Rescue Team says they are prepared to mobilize within hours if first responders in Moore, Okla., one of the hardest hit areas, need their help.
Members of the team say the hardest thing for rescue crews at this point is how to cover the huge swath of destruction.
The Fairfax team is one of 28 nationwide that could be called to Moore to help.
