The director of the Reston Zoo will spend 30 days in jail after pleading guilty to animal cruelty charges in the death of a wallaby.
Meghan Mogensen pleaded guilty today in connection with the drowning of the injured animal. She was found guilty in September but appealed her conviction.
Under today's plea deal, Mogensen can no longer make decisions about the care or euthanasia of any animal if she serves as an animal caretaker.
Her father owns the zoo.
