The Carroll County Sheriff's Department has arrested a man in connection with a murder early Saturday morning in Westminster.
Police have not released the man's name because charges have not yet been laid against him. Authorities say that the man was arrested by Anne Arundel Police shortly after noon Saturday in a convenience store parking lot on Ritchie Highway. Investigators say the suspect was found with a van belonging to the murder victim, 61-year-old Edward Zepp of Westminster.
Zepp's body was found on the back porch of his house on West Main Street shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday morning by police responding to a report of an assault. Zepp had suffered trauma to his neck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say that Zepp lived alone in the downstairs apartment of the two-story house on West Main Street and the back door to the apartment appeared to be damaged.
