Montgomery County police are investigating whether a driver injured in a violent crash Monday morning in Burtonsville had been drinking, News4's Megan McGrath reported..
Police attempted to stop a driver northbound on Route 29 on suspicion of drunken driving after 2:30 a.m., but the driver didn’t stop. Police followed the car for about two miles. It knocked over a traffic sign, drove over a guardrail and went down an embankment at Blackburn Lane.
The driver suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive.
