A piece of living history landed in Manassas, Va., this week.

The Boeing B-29 super fortress is the same kind of plane that dropped atomic bombs in World War II, and it’s the only one that's still flying.

For the next couple of days, the plane, named Fifi, will be at Manassas Regional Airport

"We developed a bomber that was more sophisticated than anything in its day,” flight operations officer David Oliver said. “The technology that went into it and the ingenuity really are a testament to the American spirit during that time frame."

When you climb into the B-29, you get a sense of just how tight it is. It’s not the plane for claustrophobics.

In the cockpit, the menu of aviation instruments seems never ending

The sheer size of the plane is impressive. The bombing missions it ran are even more so.

If you're brave enough, you can take a ride in the B-29 for about $600. If you miss it in Manassas, it's flying to Martin Airport in Baltimore next week.
