First lady Michelle Obama was interrupted by a heckler during a speech at a Democratic National Committee event in D.C. Tuesday evening.
Over halfway through Obama's 20-minute speech at the fundraiser, 56-year-old Ellen Sturtz began shouting in support of an executive order on gay rights. Obama left the lecturn, reportedly came "eye-to-eye" with Sturtz and told her that she "listen to me or you can take the mic, but I'm leaving."
The crowd implored Obama to stay -- which she did -- and Sturtz was escorted from the fundraiser, but not before shouting about how she was "looking for federal equality before I die."
