An occupant of an SUV was struck by a car driven by a man trying to avoid an altercation with two other occupants of the SUV late Friday, according to Anne Arundel County police.
A 25-year-old man was driving an Acura west on Route 100 in Pasadena and trying to notify police of an SUV being driven recklessly about quarter to midnight, police said. Near Magothy Beach Road, the SUV stopped suddenly, blocking the Acura.
Two people got out of the SUV and approached the Acura, prompting its driver to maneuver to drive away and avoid an altercation, police said.
At that point, a 58-year-old man who also got out of the SUV, was struck by the Acura, police said.
The driver of the Acura drove to a nearby business and called police.
The 58-year-old man is in serious but stable condition at University of Maryland Shock Trauma.
No charges have been filed, but the investigation continues, police said.
