A portion of an Alexandria road will remain closed through Monday afternoon as crews repair a broken water main.
Quaker Lane is closed in both directions between Duke Street and Seminary Road. Officials say a 12-inch pipe broke Monday morning, leaving water pooling on some portions of the road. All lanes were shut down, complicating the morning commute for those in the area.
Crews are attempted to open two right lanes -- one south, one north -- in time for the evening rush hour. Repairs will take at least several hours, reported News4's Megan McGrath.
