The Falls Church Police Department is looking into a pair of assaults and robberies this weekend, but it is not known if the incidents are related.

According to Susan Finarelli with the Falls Church Police Department, the first was reported June 15 just before 5 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Washington Street. Finarelli said two suspects attempted to take a backpack from a victim and during a struggle, the victim's jaw and nose were broken.

The first suspect is described as a white man in his 20s with red hair about 4 inches long. The second suspect is described as a black man in his 20s, bald, with a muscular build.

The second incident happened the next day just after 11 p.m. in the 400 block of East Broad Street. The victim was sitting by his motorcycle when two men approached him, sharing a moped. They knocked the victim down, who managed to escape from the suspects. The suspects then unsuccessfully tried to start the victim's motorcycle but instead got away with his helmet and shirt.

Those suspects are described as a black man between 20 and 25 with a thin build and a Hispanic man also between 20 and 25 with a skinny build as well.

If you have any information on these incidents, contact police at 703-248-5053.
