Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker launched his bid for re-election Thursday.
Baker made the announcement at the Newton White Museum Mansion on Enterprise Road in Mitchelville.
Baker was elected county executive in 2010 and previously worked as a lawyer in the District of Columbia.
During his term, Baker has been a vocal supporter of the effort to expand gambling in the county and successfully fought to gain more control over the county's school system.
He has also attempted to draw more high-end businesses and development to the county.
