Prince George's County Police have released a sketch of a man wanted in connection with the June 22 sexual assault of a 7-year-old girl.
The girl was riding a bike with her friends around 3 p.m. at the Woods of Marlton apartment complex on Heathermore Boulevard in Upper Marlboro, Md., when she wandered away from the group.
Officials said a man then abducted her at gunpoint, took her behind a row of apartments in the complex and sexually assaulted her. He then ran from the scene.
The suspect is described as a white man with an average build, and at the time of the incident, he had short cropped hair with a receding hairline. He also had a goatee-style salt and pepper beard, as well as a piercing in his tongue described as a round ball.
The girl's mother told News4's Shomari Stone she and her young daughter are undergoing counseling. She had strong words for her daughter's attacker.
"Burn in hell for hurting our whole community and a whole family for a sick gratification. Burn in hell," she said she would tell him.
If you have any information on the man's identity, contact police at 301-772-4908. A cash reward is being offered.
