At about dawn Thursday morning, the city flag of Seattle is to rise in place of the D.C. flag at at the John A. Wilson Building at 14th and Pennsylvania Ave in Northwest.
The flag will fly from dawn to dusk, thanks to a bet Mayor Vincent Gray lost against Seattle for the ‘Skins/Seahawks game.
There will be no “ceremony.” The flag will go up in the morning and down in the evening.
Sunrise is at 7:26 a.m. and sunset will be at about 5:05. We suppose it's a good thing the days are still short.
