Metro officials said a woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a Metro train at the Tenleytown station Wednesday evening just after 9:30 p.m.
The woman was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officials said she intentionally stood in front of an outbound train.
Red line trains single-tracked between Friendship Heights and Van Ness stations through the evening.
