More than 3,000 customers are without power Sunday after an equipment failure at a substation.
Pepco said two power lines from the Benning Road Substation are not working and the outage affects Logan Circle, Chinatown, Bloomingdale, U Street corridor and Foggy Bottom. The problem started around noon and is expected to be resolved by 9 p.m.
The following zipcodes are impacted: 20001, 20004, 20005, 20006, 20009, 20036, 20037, 20045, 20052.
Pepco said they will try to get people back on temporary power, but the problem at the substation needs a permanent fix.
