Police have identified the Woodbridge woman fatally struck by a police cruiser Saturday morning.
An officer was called to the area of Jefferson Highway at Cardinal Drive in Woodbridge at 4:30 a.m for reports of an intoxicated person waking in traffic. As the officer reached the top of a hill in the area, he saw 25-year-old Isabella Majano in his lane of traffic and was unable to avoid her.
Majano was transported to an area hospital, where she later died.
According to police, the victim was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Speed was determined to not be a factor.
No additional injuries were reported.
