An Accokeek man is accused of selling drugs at the school where he worked.
Authorities say Kiayer Kenneth Chapman, 23 -- who was working the evening shift as a temporary custodian -- was selling drugs at the school after classes were dismissed for the day.
The investigation began when a school resource officer at North Point High School in Waldorf received a tip Thursday. That night, a police K9 alerted officers to the presence of drugs in Chapman's vehicle, which was parked in the school parking lot.
Officers say they found two sandwich-size bags of marijuana with an estimated street value of $500, a digital scale and cash inside the car.
Chapman has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance on school property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
