A man with the surname Honesty made up a story about a bomb at the Fairfax County Courthouse Wednesday morning, police said.
Police received a report of a bomb threat just before 7:30 a.m. Authorities quickly identified 72-year-old Joe Edwin Honesty of Alexandria as the suspect.
Honesty was found inside the courthouse, where he was for an unrelated matter, police said.
Police do not believe an explosive device ever existed.
Honesty was held without bond on a charge of making a bomb threat.
