As 47 of the 50 states, including Maryland and Virginia, reported "widespread" flu this week, some healthcare providers have scheduled additional flu vaccine clinics so that locals who haven't gotten a flu shot can get one.
This coming week, Adventist Wellness HealthCare has set up clinics at its corporate headquarters, located at 1801 Research Boulevard in Rockville, as well as at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park.
Clinics will be held in Rockville Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Washington Adventist Hospital will host a clinic Thursday from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 20.
In Virginia, Inova has scheduled a Family Flu Clinic at its Fair Oaks Medical Campus from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. January 19. A clinic will also be held January 26 from 9 a.m. to noon at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Residents who can't make these clinics for a flu shot are encouraged to visit flushot.healthmap.org to determine their nearest vaccine provider.
