Planning to attend the inauguration but dreading the thought of relying on port-a-potties? Well, there’s an app for that, too.
Charmin wants to help inauguration attendees “enjoy the go” Monday. Citing reports of a possible port-a-potty shortage, the iconic toilet paper brand is urging inauguration-goers to download its free SitOrSquat app for iPhone or Android.
While not expecting nearly as many attendees as the estimated 1.8 million at President Barack Obama’s first inauguration -- the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Agency has lowered the number of expected attendees this year to 500,000-700,000 -- there will still be a lot of competition for those 1,500 port-a-potties. Charmin says SitOrSquat can find clean, public restrooms around the Capitol Building, allowing users to search and view restrooms near them with the help of an interactive map.
But don’t just use the app for personal relief. It also allows you to share with other attendees just how clean the restrooms are.
Rate it a “sit” if you enjoyed your experience or a “squat” if you were hoping for better facilities. You can also elaborate with a review and include pictures.
So when nature calls Monday, answer with the help of your smartphone.
