One person died in a crash involving a D.C. ambulance in Southeast Friday afternoon.
About 2:30 p.m at Southern Avenue and 12th Street., an SUV vehicle slammed into the ambulance, rolled over and caught fire, according to authorities. Witnesses said the ambulance struck a third vehicle, News4's Erika Gonzalez reported.
Two paramedics were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police could not say if the weather was a factor in the crash, Gonzalez reported.
Southern Avenue SE is closed between 12th Street and Wheeler Road.
