Police in Montgomery County have arrested a man who they say robbed multiple guests at a Silver Spring hotel Friday night.
Investigators say that 18-year-old Jackson Julius, of the 3600 block of Bel Pre Road in Silver Spring, was charged with multiple counts of armed robbery and other related firearm offenses after he robbed eight guests at the Homewood Suites Hotel at 8728 Colesville Road.
According to investigators, a woman had rented a room at the hotel and had texted several people that she was having a party. Shortly after 11 p.m., police say the woman let Julius into the room, believing him to be another party guest. Julius then allegedly pulled out a sawed-off shotgun and announced the robbery.
Police say that Julius took cash, personal items, phones, and other electronics from victims before fleeing with a duffel bag.
Julius was arrested after police boarding a Ride On bus near the intersection of University Boulevard and Veirs Mill Road matched his description to that given by the victims and noticed a duffel bag on the seat next to him. After Julius left the bus, police searched the duffel bag and discovered both the gun and the victims' property.
Julius is being held on $150,000 bond. A bond review hearing is scheduled to be held Monday afternoon in Rockville.
