TSA officers found a stash of 13 expandable batons in a man's carry-on luggage at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Monday.
Police responded to the scene and confiscated the items, citing the man on a local weapons charge.
The 20-inch expandable batons, which authorities called kubotans, are not permitted to be brought onboard because they're considered weapons.
The man was allowed to rebook his flight to to John F. Kennedy International Airport without the kubotans.
