Alexandria Police want to know who stole a police cruiser and left it across state lines in Maryland.
Late Thursday night or early Friday morning, police say someone stole a marked police cruiser, a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria, from in front of an apartment building on Duke Street in Alexandria. Police say the vehicle was parked and locked.
At the time of the theft, police say the cruiser had a Remington 870 shotgun and a Panasonic Toughbook mobile computer inside.
On Friday evening, Prince George’s County police found the missing vehicle in Maryland. It was towed back to Arlington for processing. It is not clear whether the shotgun and computer were inside.
Arlington Police continue to investigate. They ask anyone with information to contact them.
