Dusting of Snow Not Likely for D.C. Area

A dusting of snow does not look likely for the D.C. area after all tonight, according to Storm Team 4.

A system with potential to bring snow was approaching Hagerstown and Winchester about 4 p.m. Monday, but nothing is falling in the area, and it is expected to quickly pull off about 11 p.m to midnight.

This system followed on the heels of three consecutive days of snow flurries Friday through Sunday, although little of it remained on the ground for long. That snow came from Alberta clippers -- fast-moving systems that originate in Canada and race southeastward.

Expect high temperatures in the 40s the rest of the week.
