An American Airlines flight was diverted to at Dulles International Airport Wednesday afternoon after having pressurization problems.
American Airlines Flight 1491, an MD-80, departed from Reagan National Airport shortly before 1 p.m. en route to Dallas-Fort Worth.
According to the airline, the plane was unable to pressurize properly after takeoff. The pilot declared an emergency and received permission to land at Dulles.
However, the plane had to circle the airport for more than 30 minutes to burn off fuel before landing safely shortly before 2:15 p.m.
No injuries were reported. The plane didn't experience any depressurization, the airline said.
An American Airlines spokesperson said there were 125 passengers and a five-person crew on board.
The airline is working on getting the passengers on another flight.
