A major police presence is expected at a Loudoun County high school Monday, where police, firefighters and school staff members are holding an active shooter drill.
The drill at Loudoun Valley High School in Purcellville will simulate an armed intruder entering the building to test both the emergency response and the school's policies.
Students are off from school Monday for a teacher workday.
The drill starts at 7 a.m. and should be over by about 1 p.m.
Roads around the school will be closed to the public, so police ask that you avoid the area.
